Metropolitan Gala 2012: Evento Moda Pelo Mundo Por: em 8 de Maio de 2012 às 15:39

I’m fascinated by red carpets, from Golden Globes to Oscar, but I confess that I’d trade them all for Metropolitan Gala! The NYC museum anually welcome the most important people from fashion and entertainment to celebrate their brand new exhibit at Costume Institute, a wing dedicated to our favorite subject. This year the theme is so amazing that I’m itching not to go to Manhattan right away. Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations celebrates the work of the designers that defined fashion in XX and XXI centuries, showing their similarities and plating with their products combinations. A must see!

Well, let’s talk about what stars wore at the Ball?

No simple black dresses for an event of this magnitude. The color always features in flawless outfits and these four girls were the best example of how to update the LBD (in this case, long black dress). Rihanna, in Tom Ford, Cate Blanchett, in McQueen, Renée Zelwegger, in Pucci and Rosie Huntington, in Burberry, went for textures so they could be the most elegant women of the night.

Talking about textures, Carey Mulligan, in Prada, and Emma Stone, in Lanvin, wore them to leave their short dresses red carpet worthy. Curiosity: Emma’s dress had 3.000 plastic flowers applied! Always cute and always getting it right :)

Flowers go to party! I know that the Valentino dresses that Lily Collins and Sarah Jessica Parker wore didn’t make the cut to many people, but I confess that I loved them. Lily is so young that she can (and must!) wear lighter outfits, in a princess kind of feel. SJP, always with her fashion statements, wore the closed dress with matching shoes and double cuffs above the sleeves. I love how she can risk without being afraid of failing.

Our -almost- brazilian representant looked soooo good! Camilla Belle, in Ralph Lauren, and Kate Bosworth, in Prada, were stunning, but stole the spotlight with dark lipsticks. These wine and brownish tones attracted all flashes!

The most gorgeous one to attend the Ball in my opinion was Lana del Rey, no doubts about that. So much power in her outfit, her makeup, everything!! Using that dark lips too, the singer shined with a dress and cape designed by Joseph Altuzarra. A diva’s thing ;)

Which was your favorite? I wanna know!

Gurias! How great, winter’s arrived, at least here down south! So cozy, reminds us of wine, hot chocolate, tasty food, the ones we love close to us and glamourous outfits. In cold weather everything is perfect, makeup lasts longer… we can wear (fake!) fur, boots, coats, scarves…a much more elaborated look that I’m sure all of us women feel more beautiful and seductive.

Tee: Zara / Pants: Imperial (Magma) / Vest: Valentino / Scarpin: Christian Louboutin / Bag: Hermés / Crucifix: Buenos Aires antiquarian / Earrings: Adriana Helal

Well…I spent last holiday in a place I love, Punta del Este! In there you can find this store named Magma that pleases the most different tastes and styles. You need time to browse through all, but in there I found this “pajama” pants, a printed loosen moulage that it’s a current fever. I when saw it on fashion spreads I wasn’t sure if it would look good on me, but there I was trying it out and loving it. So comfy, with a trendy feel. I wore it with a basic pump, must have of all seasons, to literally elevate the outfit and leave any doubt that this is an outfit to wear outside the house behind!

The black vest gets the outfit out of basic and leaves it all more dress up. Fur in general can transform any look to a total luxury!

The crucifix is an old aquisition from a thrift store of when I live in Buenos Aires. I loved hanging out to find new stuff; every now and then I found something that was really worth it and was so close to me. That’s what happened with it, I feel so protected with this rosary because I think it already came loaded with prayers..

So let’s enjoy what cold weather has best!!!

Xx and see you next week!

NK Store’s winter: Evento Moda Por: em 7 de Maio de 2012 às 15:30

When my invitation for NK Store‘s show arrives I have to start preparing my heart ’cause I know there’s good things coming up. In the same way that Natalie doesn’t fail at her internation brands wardship, her own label causes the same fashionistas sighs from beginning to end due to the looks presented at her store’s runway last week. I was there and I tell you it was hard to resist!

In the collection, the highlights are the textures. Fur, feathers, laces…all to guarantee a glamourous season, so NK. What I liked the most was that the pieces were timeless. I also felt a 20′s thing going on, one othe the most beautiful decades ever, due the the leghts, silhouette and sparkles. I couldn’t take my eyes off the botties too! Take a look:

To sum things up, NK filled me one more time with desires and fulfilled my what-to-buy list. Beautiful clothing and with such quality that are so worthy in a long-term basis, which this season they mastered it.

When I said that Shoestock was our shoes fast fashion I wasn’t kidding! Gloria Coelho’s collection barely arrived at their shelves and they already have news, this time specially made for Mother’s Day.

The muse Costanza Pascolato designed a gooorgeous line for the brand! There’s no way you can deny that the fashion consultant didn’t put her heart at the creations, ’cause those who knows her are aware of her signature style, so refined, and that now is available to everyone trying to get on her shoes. Lol

Yesterday was the official launch and there I was praising the event and buying my pairs. It was so hard making a selection of my favorites ’cause I swear, I loved them all! At the event, hosted by her, the mood was so cheerful, all due to the video that Carla Lemos presented at our F*Hits HQ, remember? It was all around the store, masks was distributed and, of course, Costanza danced to it!

My look of the day was (almost) all black. Just like that to face the current cold weather ;)

Blouse and pants: NK Store / Coat: Burberry / Boots: Bottega Veneta / Bag: Chanel

When I use only one color, I think it’s nice to play with textures. That’s why the lace coat was my chosen one, just like the wedge boots, so comfy to bare all day standing.

Well, gotta run. I wish you all a great beginning of week ;)

Marcio’s look: combat boot: Evento Male Moda Por: em 6 de Maio de 2012 às 9:00

Inspired by Alice’s post showing how the same shirt could turn out so different when wore by Paula Martins, I tell you today how the same shoes, even if they’re so striking, can move between styles.

I wore this combat boots in two moments of the same day. The first stop was Lacoste’s lauch. Because it was a sporty event, the look was more rock’n'roll, bereaved. Leather jacket steps in, an easy pair with the heavy shoes.

Some hours later there I was in Vogue Brasil’s anniversary party. To the cheerful night, a more sofisticated outfit was ideal, so I left the jacket at home and put on some blazers. The modern touch, afterall it was a fashion magazine party, was in my feet, breaking the seriousness of tailoring.

See how combat boots can be more versatile than what you thought it was? My favorite bet for winter’s cold!

Inspiration Board – Neon: Beauty Moda Trends Por: em 5 de Maio de 2012 às 9:00

Here it is a trend that no one can deny: neon. The flashy tones were all over North Hemisphere’s winter and consolidate the summer that’s coming, like all windows confirm. It’s not a surprise that around here the flourescent is landing now – say so Lalá Noleto and Camila Coutinho, both neon lovers and not afraid to bet in shocking colors!!

The trend has short life? Probably. But every other time it comes back! Neon’s appeared back in 2009, who remembers? From then to nowadays nothing’s changed – the favorites continues to be yellow, green and pink, while the best combinations are the ones that neutralizes and “fades” (is it possible?) the pieces of the hour. Three colors steps in to formulate the outfit then: black, grey and nude.

I know many people don’t get excited in wearing neon (myself included), but who knows you can change your mind after peeking this Inspiration Board? Maybe you could have seconds thoughts of bringing all the attention to yourself, with a look or with a vibrant detail?

One piece, many ways: Moda Por: em 4 de Maio de 2012 às 15:00

New tag around here! I’ve got this “one piece, many ways” thing in my head since I started the blog a little over a year ago, but I never found a way to publish it. Well, it was about time this happen!

Occasionally (or even in a weekly basis, who know? ;D) I’ll come here to show a piece that I’m desiring and, well, many ways to wear it. A great exercise for me and for all my readers, who will be able to rediscover their own closets and even inspire new shopping.

To kick off this thing right, a desire that’s been hanging around my wishlist for quite some time and I finally made it through. Shirts are key pieces on my closet and when combined with a print I love… No way of escaping! I found mine in MOB, but it’s on sale on F*Hits Shops.

* Leather and color – the snake print itself is sofisticated, but it’s taken on a new level when matched with leather. Add colored accessories to a contemporary touch!

* Matchy-matchy – the thing to do this season! Matching top and bottom creates a bold, modern outfit that lengthens the body.

* Weekend – the shirt comes out of the office to go to weekends too. Go with jeans, flats and vintage looking bags to create a relaxed mood.

It took so long, but finally Autumn arrived! This holiday the weather changed in São Paulo that, when I noticed, I was taking some warmer clothing off the closet to compose my outfit.

Blazer: Pop Up Store / Tee: Marisa / Pants: 011 / Clutch: Zara / Shoes: Schutz

With lower temperatures, it’s time to rock leather pants! I was a little tired of all them after wearing so, so much last winter and in my most recent trips, but this one in particullar got me because of its lace details. Some delicacy never goes wrong when we wear something with a rocker attitude ;)

I just love this clutch so much and I thought it gave a special touch overall. This blazer’s sleeves caught my attention – I think this details are so cute! – besides, they’re yellow and I’m kinda in love with the color lately. The most adventurous ones can make a DIY!

I hope you liked it  :)

See you next time!

Kisses,

Anna

New length: Moda Trends Por: em 3 de Maio de 2012 às 15:00

Taking a look at this week’s Net-a-Porter magazine, I saw a beautiful shooting with skirts that are almost masterpieces because of their prints. The drawings are all amazing and the skirts are to die for, but I noticed another thing they had in common: their length has cut short!

On latest seasons we saw so many long and midi skirts, which taught women to review their closets and a new silhouette. I’m all for it, ’cause you must have noticed I’m such a fan, but looking for change, designers took off many centimeters of fabric and now are betting hard on a length a little short, a little high, but between the knees area:

And since everything Net-a-Porter shows is a trend sign, it’s possible to identify others that are hitting the streets full-force: matchy-matchy, peplum, mixing prints, one-stripe sandals… You can see this as an inspiration source for sure!

BW shirt: Moda Trends Por: em às 9:00

The guys from F*Hits Shops suggested a cool subject on their website: wear three shirts in six different outfits. Challenge accepted, I chose mine right up, a timeless piece that’s so trendy right now – black and white shirt.

Shirt: Chris Francini e Paula Martins / Woven skirt: Camila do Rio / Necklace: Lita Mortari/ Shoes: Luiza Barcelos

This piece is so great in wardrobe ’cause it goes with literally everything, for real. From denim to social, the bw shirt brings a so parisian chic delicacy that the fact that this one has a vertical stripe (lengthens the body, love it!) is just a detail. I wore mine with a long woven skirt, another hit from my closet and high sandals. I’m loving this thick heels, so perfect to wear all day long.

Wooden accessories are the next trend, take note! I saw it on Achados da Bia and didn’t take long for me to get mine. My ‘finding’ is so me – this one combines chains and a red stone. So, so beautiful!

As I told earlier, the same shirt was in two outfits. My opponent was Paula Martins, from Look do Dia that, in a coincidence, also chose knit to complete the look, in a color version and a bit shorter. I adore this way too and I’d totally wear it.
